Once in a while, but at least once in a lifetime, all of us have to buy a pair, try them on very carefully, maybe even wear them, and then give back to the hosiery drawer.
For most of us, they are just too expensive. It’s a bit like in Ray Bradbury’s short novel about the couple who cannot allow themselves the space travel. We rather just see them. So this is how they are made.
And, only FYI, something personal: back in 1998 or 1999, when I was very young, I wrote them an email from my very expensive Nokia 9110 through my 9.8 connection that was charged by the minute, that I was amazed by them and I wanted to design hosiery for them.
And you know what? They answered next day and asked for my designs. That’s how the glory of life passes – I neither had designs nor the courage to create & send to them.
