The Face of POIS – Behind the Scenes with Madelaine Sheldon

The Face of POIS – Behind the Scenes with Madelaine Sheldon

We quizzed our very own fashion designer on her innovation, her style, and what fashion means to her. Read the interview below to see what Madelaine had to say.

What inspired you to create POIS?

I found that on our website (Luxury-Legs.com), our offering of trousers and leggings were lacking a smart, high quality, straight leg look, so I decided to go about designing something that ticked all the boxes.

How did you find the process of designing your own innovation?

Little did I realise what was actually involved! From creating the design of the product, branding, sourcing the fabric, manufacturer, sampling the product, pattern grading, tickets, labels, care labels etc, etc. It was a lot of work, but I had great fun designing them and i’m incredibly proud of the finished product.

What is the difference between the classic POIS and the new Summer style?

Primarily it is the fabric, the summer style is made from a wonderful Japanese stretch cotton as opposed to the Classic POIS being made of a fabulous Italian stretch jersey fabric for a winter weight.

What is your favourite part of being a fashion designer?

Providing exactly what my customer wants gives me the most satisfaction.

What does fashion mean to you?

From a very young age I have always had an interest in Fashion and what people are wearing. Today there are so many different looks that it is important to find a style that accentuates an individual’s best asset. As a total look I enjoy mixing things from the high street with well-known branded pieces.

What is the next step for POIS? What do we have to look forward to?

For the future I will always be on the lookout for innovative fabrics and continue to keep an eye on emerging trouser shapes with pull on styling……..POIS…… “Pull On in Style”!
